U.S. Troops Blocked From Baptist Website

As the Obama Administration continues its assault on religious liberties — at least for conservative Christians — now comes word that the Pentagon may be blocking troops’ access to the website of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest evangelical Christian organization on the planet and the second-largest Christian denomination in the United States.

An Air Force officer first revealed the censoring to Fox News, which reported that the officer was blocked from the site by a message that said his Internet activity was being logged and monitored for trying to access a blocked site.

An Army officer also said he received the same or a similar notice when he tried to access the site.

This incident closely follows a widely disseminated email from an Army officer warning other officers to watch out for soldiers who oppose gay marriage, are suspicious of Muslims or advocate border control, comparing them to the KKK or Nazis.

Lt. Col. Jack Rich at Fort Campbell apparently got his information from a list of “hate groups” prepared by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is known for its anti-conservative paranoia and accusations of racism directed at the Tea Party and other liberal bogeymen.
