I’m offended that the team isn’t named after an Italian. Why not the Washington Columbians, named after Christopher Columbus? Our nation’s capital is the District of Columbia — “Land of Columbus.” Not to name it after an Italian is an offense to all Italians.

Where would America be without pizza, calzones, lasagna, pasta, spaghetti, pepperoni, gelato, and Italian pastries like cannoli and pizzele? Actually, where would America be without Amerigo Vespucci, another Italian? I’m offended.

For more than a decade, the politically correct crowd has denounced the name of the NFL team the Washington Red Skins. Washington D.C. Council member David Grosso introduced a non-binding resolution to change the Redskins name to the ‘Redtails.’
