VP Pence tells March for Life: ‘Life is winning again in America’ (Video)

Vice President Mike Pence came with a clear message to March for Life today: “Life is winning again in America.”

For the first time in American history, a vice president of the United States addressed the annual March for Life in the nation’s Capitol today, telling hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers to “press on” to defend life.

“It’s a good day. It’s the best day I’ve ever seen for the March for life, in more ways than one,” Pence told the crowd.

Pence, quoting the Declaration of Independence’s famous insistence on the rights to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” said that “44 years ago our Supreme Court turned away from the first of these timeless ideals.”

“But today, three generations hence, because of all of you, and the many of thousands that stand with us in marches like this all across the nation, life is winning again in America,” he said.

Pence said that it is evident that life is winning with the election of “pro-life majorities and the Congress of United States of America” and especially with the “historic election of a president who stands for add stronger America, a more prosperous America, and a president who I say proudly stands for the right to life – President Donald Trump,” he said.

The March for Life takes place every year in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children peacefully demonstrate against the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the US. The marchers fight for what organizers of the event call a “world where every human life is valued and protected.”

This was the first time the nation’s second in command has attended the March in its 44-year history.

Pence called the March a “celebration of that progress that we have made in this cause…”
